The classic socialist maxim of "From each according to their abilities, to each according to their needs" governs how we manage our guild resources.
Guild Vault: We have two guild vaults stocked with materials for leveling professions, completing quests, upgrading gear, and raiding — everything from peacebloom to epic gems. The resources in the guild vault are there for members to use. "Use” here means equipping, questing, crafting, turning in for rep, guild raiding — not selling, sharding, or sharing with non-Wreckies. We expect our members to contribute what they can to the guild vault when they can. Please speak with an available officer about how to have a bank toon join our banking alt guid, TooBigToFail. The items in that vault are there for members to use as well.
Guild Funds: We use our guild funds to help pay for repairs for all members. This makes our guild special; we are proud of being able to provide this service to our members. The more our members support the guild and each other, the more the guild will reward that effort.
Abuse of Guild Resources: The resources of the guild — specifically the Guild Vault and Guild Funds — are not infinite. They are there because most of the guild members contributed generously. It is disappointing to those who contribute when no one uses our resources. However, it is even more frustrating when it is perceived that a guild member takes and never gives back. Giving back can take many forms, including contributing gold, farming meat or fish for the vault, helping fellow guild members, and organizing guild events.
Using 10 stacks of mageweave to level tailoring or taking an epic gem for a new piece of gear is great. Withdrawing a piece of blue gear to speed leveling or an epic to start raiding is wonderful. Using the leveling potions, recipes, glyphs, rep turn-ins and other things in the guild vault is strongly encouraged. Withdrawing multiple raiding flasks four days a week, every week, without contributing back is abuse of guild resources. Ongoing abuse may result in loss of guild vault access at the discretion of the guild vault managers.
Socialism Days and Sustainability: Some guild members schedule a "Socialism Day” on the guild calendar. This is a period of time they have set aside to help fellow guild members or to farm mats for the guild. The guild occasionally schedules a Sustainability Day, usually on a weekend, when members are asked to spend a little time farming or crafting for the guild. While nobody is required to participate in these events, we urge all characters to join in, especially Level 85s.
Raiding Supplies: We are committed to supporting all our members. While most tabs are devoted to leveling, questing, and professions, Tabs 7 & 8 of the guild vault contain many supplies raiders need to raid. We request that raiders be mindful that their fellow guild members are supplying these items, that their resources are finite, and that everyone else who raids less frequently also uses items from this tab. We can only continue this practice if everyone works together. We therefore request that raiders take no more than 3 to 4 flasks per day (enough for 3 to 4 hours of raiding) and no more than 9 to 12 per week (enough for 3 to 4 raids per week). Similar guidelines apply to other raiding supplies. We encourage all raiders to use this tab but also to contribute back so that we can continue to provide for everyone.
